I am beginning to suspect Bush (Rove) has stuff on the Dems they would prefer not get out into the open at this point.

Why else would they just let this Bush flip them off every time they attempt to apply restraint to the big bad Boosh?

There's a difference between being a closet-case and a pedophile. If it's a matter of him simply being gay, then who cares? Why would Warner lower himself to make personal attacks instead of taking him apart over policy? It would only make himself look bad. Personal attacks is the territory of Republicans. Now if this Dreier guy is a pedo, that's an entirely different matter.

Look, as long as Republicans are world class hypocrites on issues concerning gay and lesbian people, they are always going to be fair game for this kind of crap.

Is Mr. Warner is a cradle progressive or a convert progressive? He seems like a really good man, but I would like to see us focus on finding cradle progressive candidates, as convert progressive candidates has a tendency to backslide. On the other hand, if we are looking to just enlarge our numbers in congress, convert progressives would be fine, but if we are looking to advance the progressive adgenda, we should definitely look more at cradle progressives.

I've known Russ for years and would be thrilled to have him in the Congress. Even though I am not from his state. He's definitely what you would call a cradle progressive. He owns his own small business and his stands seem to me to be on par with most progressives.

I find the threads in this comment section that talk about Drier being gay odd - especially because Russ has never mentioned this nor would he stoop to that. That is so not his style. If it's an open secret that Drier's gay, so be it. It's his , Drier's, issue to live with and he has to live with himself and his hypocrisy. Until he's out, you can point out his hypocrisy but so what. His hard core supporters will continue to believe otherwise.

I live in IL 10 - Mark "Mr. Naval Reserve so I am so pro military" Kirk's district and for years many of us have suspected that he's in the closet. But in the end, his action is just sad. Nothing more.
