Blue America's Alan Grayson Wins Florida Primary
Congratulations, Alan! Great news from a great progressive candidate.
(Tuesday) Florida had its congressional primaries and with about 93% of the vote counted it's looking like Donna Edwards may soon have a strong progressive with a reform-minded agenda working with her in Congress. (Oh, there's still the general election in November... but Keller barely managed to hold onto his party's nomination against Todd Long who's getting 47% of the Republican vote.) AP has called the race for Grayson but says it's too close to call on the GOP side. [..]
Which ad do you think will be most effective in the general election?
or this?
Both of them are hard to resist. Please consider donating to our Blue America ActBlue page so he can keep running the ads.

Best "And I approve this message" EVER!
It usually sounds stupid and corney but that guy's got some strength in his words!
You mean there is hope for Florida?
Best news of the day. Thanks Nicole.

I think this November, we will see a sea of blue. Even if McInsane wins, The Democratic Congress will leave him powerless.
He should get rid of that ridiculous tie, though.
Tough call, but I think I prefer the first ad. I hope they run both though. I have a special disregard for government contractors.
Damn, I like them both. Sadly most of the people in Florida won't even know what the hell he's talking about, because I doubt one out of twenty people on the street has heard of any of these crimes. I can say that because I live down here. I know of at least two grown middle aged women who have never heard of abu gharib. I mean that's just one tiny sample but there are others.
Damn, two powerful ads. I can't pick a favorite.
Patricia,
You hit the nail on the head. The main reason this country is ultimately doomed, is because of a lazy, non-caring electorate. When a "good" turnout at the polls is 60-65% of eligible voters, you know the end is coming. That's why we have had Bush for two terms and why it would not surprise me at all if McCain does get elected. Too many people just don't give a shit and that will bring us all down.
To get back on topic though, use both ads, they're short and to the point and might actually cause people to ask about the lost money, etc.
Oh yeah, lose the tie. I love our flag and served 22 years in the Marines defending it, but as a tie, that just doesn't cut it.
Both are excellent. I think from the standpoint of an Advertising Manager I'd go with the First Ad, the finish is just slightly stronger a slightly more hopeful message, and a more positive image of one man standing alone vs. the final image of a prison cell.
I like the tangible element of the briefcase-full-o-dough. Next time show us a pallet of banknotes, which is easier to misplace than one would think.
They're both very good ads.
As far as the ads go, "She's Crafty" was pretty smart!
Oh and uh "FIRST"!
Not first.,,,,
The first ad seems more effective to me. It made me more outraged.
I like both of them too. But have seen both back to back I vote for the first one. It's clean and gets right to my "hey, that's MY money" limbic vote sensor. The empty warehouse and the echoing boom of the suitcase is great.
Good job.
This is great news. I loved his YouTube ad with his beard from a couple of months back.We need more like this guy.His honesty is refreshing.
The American flag should never be used as a piece of clothing.
Both are good. I like the second one a tiny bit better.
The second video... It hit me a bit harder...and the "I'll send them to prison" was a home run...
Merkin,
The American flag should never be used as a piece of clothing.
Is that written somewhere in the US Constitution?
Jesus, I hope Grayson beats that tool Keller
The first ad, plus I wish it could add the kicker from ad #2: "I'll send 'em to prison"
The first ad seems to have been taken down from YouTube, but it's still up on the Grayson website.
Both ads are effective but I prefer the second. Showing the candidate personally demonstrating the faulty equipment is more conducive to demonstrating his personal commitment to action. Telling us to visualize a stack of cash is a weaker image.
wow.. congratulations to mister grayson.. i was hoping he'd do well after the previous C&L posting..
i like both ads.. how's that for some mighty fine fence-sitting?
and good luck for the election..
The top one is great, but the bottom one kinda feels and looks like you're a personal injury trial lawyer (just the feeling I get)
Congrats on your campaign - go get em!
Both ads are excellent!
There's nothing more evil than war profiteering.
Terrorism? Shit, it doesn't even compare. They're killing for ideology, but THESE assholes are killing for money.
I'm not gay, but I freakin love this guy
Both ads are excellent and that's the type of ads I want to see from O and the national party!
Don't personalize it but blast away at ALL of the many, many screw-ups and outrages of the past 8 years.
Good luck in Nov Mr. Grayson.
Actually, I'm getting a creepy vibe from that photo
He looks like a cross between Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon and Howdy Doody...
...Ooooohhhh...
...Howdy Doody...
