2024 Was A Very Tough Year

You may have noticed that we sent far fewer e-mails this year than we did any other year. That was because there were very few good candidates— especially after primary season and most of the good ones were in gerrymandered districts designed to never elect a Democrat.

We were excited about 2 Senate candidates— Nebraska independent Dan Osborn, who lost by 8 points and Missouri Democrat Lucas Kunce, who lost by 14. There were basically almost no progressives running for the House who we felt we could ask you to keep contributing to. Even the best one with the best chance to win was a little too close to the genocide coalition for us to feel excited about.

We had some significant victories in state legislative races and excellent candidates like Gabriel Sanchez in Georgia, Tanya Vyhovsky in Vermont and Chris Larson in Wisconsin won their contests. Two California races are still too close to call, one for Jovanka Beckles and one for Marisol Rubio, both in the Bay Area.

But our main mission remains the same: helping to elect progressives to Congress. This cycle we witnessed the worst roster of candidates ever. The few progressives who ran were almost all knocked out in primaries by opponents financed by AIPAC and the crypto-criminal cartel. And we’re already worried about 2026, especially because reactionary Rahm Emanuel is making a strong play to take over the DNC. We hope we can find a candidate to fight and beat him.

Meanwhile we just wanted to make sure you know that we’re still here and that we don’t just ask for contributions for their own sake. Thanks for sticking with us enough to have opened this e-mail.

Have a great Holiday Season.
